Estate Hunting

You know those wilderness areas so special they're worth protecting? Well, that's the Taharua Valley, and the premier 16,000 private ranch we're lucky to use as our number one hunting destination. It's not an inch short of world class.

Hunting in the Taharua Valley

The ranch is the perfect environment for us to deliver your life sized adventure. The vast majority of animals you'll hunt here have lived their entire lives roaming the 16,000 acre ranch, with all species reproducing prolifically. Challenging hunting is made possible by the sheer scope of the property, along with the combination of old beech forests, grasslands, manuka scrub and pine forests. The tracks are good and safe too, meaning you can hunt in all weather. To sum it up in one word? Epic.

Species to hunt

There's plenty to love about multi species hunts if you want a super adventure. And there's lots to be happy about when you see the trophies on offer. Mighty and majestic, the red stag is number one on most hunters bucket list, but add to that sika, fallow, rusa, goats, boars and rams, you can even add extras in the field. Or, if you're after an alternate species such as sambar or elk then we can combine another adventure to bag those too. If you're after tahr and chamois, that hunting is all in the South Island of New Zealand. So what does that mean for you? An easy 30 minute ride to the airport to board a plan and swap islands - or we can meet you 'down South' if you're after those species only.

And the best thing?

Unlike plenty of other hunting spots in New Zealand, Ranch management have never let masses of hunters through the gates. We think you'll agree this means this makes for a much better hunt.
